Thurs 2nd : Maundy Thursday : an invitation to all on the Pilgrimage to come gather for a Bring & Share Supper from 6.00pm-7.00pm around the fire in the schoolrooms. Anyone is welcome to come. If you’d like to join us if you can come about 10 mins early to help set up that would be great. It will start with a washing of hands; a simple bring and shared meal and just a gathering, a meeting point around the table. At the end of the meal there will just be a short reading of the first page of The Story
We end in silence as we tidy the food away to the kitchen and set the chairs around the fire. Followed by a Gethsemane Vigil from 7.00pm – 10pm.
A Silent Vigil with the spoken word as we share the telling of The Story, from an edited version of Peter Marshall’s "The First Easter." You can stay for as short or as long as you like, if when you go, you could just leave quietly. The story is read by those present slowly and reflectively, by whoever wants to take a turn reading; it’s fine if you’d rather just listen. It’s broken up with a 5min pause between sections for a leg stretch, a cuppa, a snack or a loo break. There’s music at the point when the next session is about to begin. It is about being alongside, keeping vigil. It finishes at 10pm. Anyone is welcome to come and join us. Sunday 5th April : Dawn Vigil . Meeting at 5.30am on Easter Morning to walk to the top of Cronk ny aree Laa for sunrise at 6.05am

Welcome : a bit about us...
We have at least one event almost every month, just a time for getting together:
Be it a concert, a slide show, quiz night, World Bonnag Championship, speaker or music night, it will inevitably have a supper. These are the events organised by the Friends of our Church, and usually need booking in advance to help us with numbers for catering. They are fun and fundraising, with proceeds going to the ongoing maintenance and restoration of this unique historic building. 10% of our proceeds after costs always go to our nominated charities for the year. This year we're supporting Autism in Mann & the Manx charity working overseas: The Coral & Pearl Hostels Trust, supporting and helping vulnerable girls in Tanzania by operating safe hostels.
Our "Dalby Booking Office " is but a grand term for a very amazing family who volunteer to do this out of the kindness of their hearts amongst the busyness of their own lives...... to help value what they do for us it'd be really great if you could ring them within normal working hours whenever possible. Many thanks.
Margy is our events organiser For any queries or information please contact her at : [email protected]
We also have ongoing community gatherings throughout the month that don't need booking ahead. eg. Soup Stop, the Film afternoon and evenings, Meditation...... they're just designed as gathering points. They're open to anyone to drop by and surprise us, it'd be great to see you. These operate on an ad hoc basic, a warm friendly space with refreshments.
We're very grateful for your donations to help us cover our running / heating costs. All Proceeds after costs go to the work of the church and our Community Outreach.

NB>> SAVING STAMPS :
We save used stamps for the charity Manx Wild Bird Aid; a registered charity on the Isle of Man that rehabilitates sick, injured or orphaned wild birds and returns them to the wild. Its' work relies entirely on its volunteers and supporters. You can find more details about the work they do at: https://www.wildbirdaid.com
There's a collecting jar in the schoolrooms; we'd be very grateful for any stamps, with a trim of 1cm of paper around it Many thanks!

We spend a lot of time thinking about Caring for Creation and how to live in a way that doesn't damage our precious planet
We love sharing the comfort of Dalby with you .........so come enjoy the warmth of our hospitality and heating ....
and by turning down your own heating at home whilst you’re with us it will help offset the drive out here!
If you can also car share and bring friends and neighbours with you it's another step towards Living in a Loving Planet Way.
